Joanne Jackson for State Representative, 131st District

Democrat Joanne Jackson drove down from her Center Valley home to Red Hill to introduce herself to local democrats at last Tuesday’s Upper Perkiomen Democratic Club meeting. With only Republicans running for the state representative’s seat in the 131st District (currently held by Republican Justin Simmons), she has decided to enter the race as a write-in candidate on the Democratic ticket.

Joanne Jackson is a retired school teacher originally from Allentown, and served on the Allentown School Board for several terms. Several members of the club, and the Area 2 Democratic Committee leader, had an opportunity to talk with her during the UPDC meeting, and hear about her strong support and knowledge of the issues, especially on public education and the environment.

Her campaign literature states;

A passionate and committed human rights advocate, Joanne Jackson grew up in a Democratic family. Her uncle was a two time Mayor of Allentown, her father was a District Magistrate, and her mother a State Committee woman and President of the Lehigh Valley Democratic Women’s Club.

Joanne has been involved in education as a teacher, mentor, advocate, national speaker, and activist for the past 45 years. A former ASD school board member, Joanne is transparent, fiscally responsible, forthright, and fights the good fight.

Please write in Joanne Jackson, for State Representative on election day, Tuesday, April 26th. Upper Perk voters in PA House District 131 live in; East Greenville, Pennsburg, Red Hill, Hereford, UH1, UH2, and UH3
