Joanne Jackson Summer Campaign Events

Democratic candidate for 131st District PA State House, Joanne Jackson is hosting two summer fundraiser events for her campaign.

A Campaign Kickoff event is scheduled for Thursday evening, June 30th, 2016. RSVP to Kelly Bauer at Suggested donation is $20 (although I am sure no one would object to a larger donation, if you are so inclined!)


Another event is scheduled for Labor Day weekend, Saturday, September 3rd. There will be music by the James Supra Blues Band and food by the Smoking’ Bull Shack from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. at the Farmhouse at Buena Vista, 3501 Main Street, Emmaus, PA. Volunteers still needed – Philadelphia 2016 DNC

The Democratic National Convention will be in Philadelphia July 25-28, 2016. The Host Committee is still looking for volunteers for that week (and for some of the weeks leading up to the big event).Volunteers may be as young as 14 years old (my son volunteered in Boston in 2004 and had an amazing time).

Can volunteers attend the Democratic National Convention?

No. The Convention requires credentials and is not open to the public. Volunteers are not guaranteed access to Convention-related events.

When is the Convention? When does volunteering occur?

The Democratic National Convention will take place July 25-28, 2016, and volunteers will be needed in abundance during that week. Additionally, some pre-Convention volunteer opportunities will be available during the weeks leading up to the event. Convention and pre-Convention opportunities will occur during the day as well as in the evening.

How do I sign up to volunteer?

Individuals must enter an email address and register online via the Host Committee’s website. Visit and click “Volunteer” at the top right of the homepage to begin the registration process. This registration system allows individuals to create their own password-protected user accounts and profiles with the Host Committee.

UPDC Meeting Tuesday, May 10, 2016

PA Democratic Party field organizer Marlou Taenzer will be stopping by Tuesday night to meet our members during our meeting. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the lower level of Upper Perkiomen Library, 350 Main Street, Red Hill, PA. There is a small parking lot behind the  library, as well as street parking.

We will hold one more meeting on June 14th before breaking for the summer – although we have some fun social and election related events planned for this summer!

County Commissioners in Upper Perk

Montgomery County Commissioners Josh Shapiro, Val Arkoosh and Joseph Gale are holding a town hall meeting in the Upper Perkiomen Valley on Thursday, May 12, 2016. This is one of six “Conversations with the Commissioners” taking place around the county this spring.
