Potluck Dinner this Saturday, Jan 28th!

The annual UPDC Potluck Dinner is this Saturday, January 28th, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. The potluck is held at the  Upper Perkiomen Senior Center, 517 Jefferson Street, East Greenville.

This event is free and open to all Democrats in the area. The club provides the plates, napkins, cutlery, and beverages – attendees provide the rest (don’t worry, there is always more than enough good food to go around).
This is always a fun social occasion, with a bit of political talk mixed in – I expect that this year many people will have great stories to share of last week’s Women’s March!

December Break (from meetings, at least)

As has been our tradition for several years, there will be no business meeting of the Upper Perkiomen Democratic Club in December.

We will meet again, on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, January 10, 2017, at 7 p.m. in the Upper Perkiomen Library, 350 Main Street, Red Hill, PA.

Our annual potluck dinner will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at the Upper Perkiomen Senior Center, 517 Jefferson Street, East Greenville, PA.

Check back for more details next month!

UPDC Meeting next Tuesday, Nov. 15th

While the Upper Perkiomen Democratic Club usually meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, for obvious reasons (Election Day!), we will not be meeting tonight.

We will have our November meeting next Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at the Upper Perkiomen Public Library, 350 Main Street, Red Hill (in the lower level). The meeting will begin at 7 p.m., and we will be discussing election day, election results, and our annual January potluck dinner. A few other topics may come up, and there may be some celebratory refreshments. All local democrats are welcome to attend UPDC meetings.

UPDC Potluck – Saturday, January 30th

All Democrats, be they Bernie, Hillary or O’Malley supporters, are welcome to come to the annual Upper Perkiomen Democratic Club Potluck dinner, this Saturday, January 30th, 2016. The potluck will begin at 6 p.m. at the Upper Perkiomen Senior Center,  517 Jefferson Street, East Greenville – parking is available in the back of the Senior Center and on Jefferson Street. This event is free, family friendly, and open to all local democrats.

Please bring your favorite hot or cold dish, or salad, or dessert, or beverage, to share with the group.

Snow Day!

Looks like it is going to keep snowing for quite a while yet, and I doubt the roads will be clear until sometime tomorrow, so enjoy the view, get out a good book or the cross country skis, and save next Saturday night, January 30th, 2016 for the UPDC Potluck Dinner.

So save your favorite hot or cold dish, or salad, or dessert, or beverage, to share with the group next week. This event is free, family friendly, and open to all local democrats. The potluck will begin at 6 p.m. at the Upper Perkiomen Senior Center,  517 Jefferson Street, East Greenville, on Saturday, January 30, 2016.

January Potluck!

January is when the Upper Perkiomen Democratic Club holds its annual potluck dinner (and sometimes celebratory inauguration events). January is also when snowstorms roll in and hit our area. January 2016 is no exception.

Our potluck, open to all democrats, is scheduled for this Saturday, January 23rd, 2016, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Upper Perkiomen Senior Center,  517 Jefferson Street, East Greenville, PA. IN CASE OF SNOW, we have a plan – we will decide Saturday morning whether or not to postpone the potluck to next Saturday, January 30th; same time, same place.

Check your email and/or this site Saturday (and keep your snow shovels handy).

Whenever we hold the potluck this month, bring your favorite hot or cold dish, or salad, or dessert, or beverage, to share with the group. This event is free, family friendly, and open to all local democrats.

Looking forward to January 2016

The Upper Perkiomen Democratic Club is taking the month of December off so its members may pursue other (non-political) activities, and rest up for what will be a very busy year ahead! In other words, no meeting on the 2nd Tuesday in December.

We will be meeting on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Upper Perkiomen Valley Library, 350 Main Street, Red Hill. It will be a relatively short meeting, so that everyone who wants to be home in time to watch President Obama’s last State of the Union address (scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. that night) may do so. At this meeting we will be making plans for the annual January Potluck, along with starting to sketch out ideas for the year ahead (with major races including for the Senate; Senator Toomey is up for re-election and two strong Democrats, Joe Sestak and Kate McGinty, are running in the primary for the opportunity to defeat this staunch, very conservative, Republican in November, and the Democratic National Convention taking place down the road in Philadelphia in July, they’ll be lots to do in 2016).

All democrats in the area are invited to the annual UPDC Potluck on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Upper Perk Senior Center, 517 Jefferson Street, East Greenville, PA, from 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Bring your favorite hot or cold dish, or salad, or dessert, or beverage, to share with the group. This is always a good time and there is always good food and good company to enjoy.
